We are headed to Carmel tomorrow for my cousin Andrew's wedding. Today we worked, HARD! We had to rip out the spring/summer flowers from the front yard, and figure out our planting strategy. It took almost as long at the nursery learning, as it did to plant it all. But we did great! We all took turns watching Annie and then planting. I was even dirtier this week than last when we laid the pavers. Annie was a fan of the hose. Todd and Adam redid the whole drip system up front so the pots and all the flowers get water. They rock.
Monday we will tackle the back. I am loving owning a home! Happy Labor day.
PS, Adam is posting some great video of Annie later today!
The before:

Loving how the plant is growing up and around the fence.
My "twisty" trees. I was very eager to have these, I didn't even care what kind. These will do well year round and in full sun, I just love them.

We planted snapdragons because they will do well in the sun, and bloom through winter. I loved the variety of colors they had. That and they are hearty. Harder for me to kill ;-).
We have a number of bougainvillea growing around our driveway. I cant wait until they fill in more, but they are thriving. This one touches our side light. Who knew such a thing could make us so happy.
The back yard, waiting to be done on Monday. The previous owners planted a few bushes that did not do well in the amount of sun that they got, so the two that lived will be ripped out and we shall start again. We have a new wall fountain coming in a few weeks that will go between the rose bushes.
