This weekend my parents came for a visit and spent some quality time with Annie.  They got to go see her at dance for the first time and they said that they had a blast watching her and all of the other little girls together.

 

  

 

Sunday we had David's birthday party on the train.  They had 200 people!  And rented out the whole train.  It was quite the adventure for little miss Annie and she had a great time.

Annie brought her Bun Bun along for the trip as she was a bit scared of how BIG the train was when they got there.  I love the picture of her and David from the outside of the train with Bun Bun.  It looks like they are off to see Santa without any grown ups.

It took me a while to get Annie's 3 year old pictures up, but, they are here!  Annie is definitely becoming her own little person which has its ups and downs. Overall the positive things far outweigh the new challenges (is very opinionated on what she wants to wear, wrote the book on excuses about why she should not have to go to bed, only appears to eat breakfast food and fruit...you get the idea.)

The wonderful things age 3 have brought are endless hugs, kisses and snuggles.  As a baby Annie was NOT a snuggler.  I respected her independence but it totally bummed me out.  Now? Now this kid is like a human teddy bear.  She wants to burrow into you, give you kisses and whisper secrets into your ear as she tries not to giggle.

She can get her self dressed, brush her own teeth and put on her own PJ's.  This is a huge win for Mommy and Daddy.  She has a very sweet nature when you have a conversation with her about life.
She loves to go to the park, and school is her home away from home.  She is bummed out on Saturdays when she does not get to go.  Right now she thinks boys have cooties, big time.  Which is juuuuust fine with me.  Apparently her and her little friend Dakota rule the playground.  Last week her teacher told me that Dakota and Annie had all of the Grizzly Bear boys (4-5 year olds) doing everything they  asked on the playground.  Apparently it was quite the site as Annie is the smallest one on the playground as she is one of the youngest in her class and on the smaller side generally.  I love that she has that confidence.

When I pick her up they are usually doing afternoon playtime outside.  She is running around cheeks flushed red, breathing hard and squealing with laughter.  She will see me, stop mid stride and scream out MOMMY!!!! and come running for me.  There is no better way to end a work day.

The first 3 years of Annie's life went by so very slow and so very fast all at once.  The older she gets the more I am enjoying the little person she is.  I am so excited to see what the next year means for out little monkey.
