A letter from me, to my Mom, on Mother's Day.
Dear Mom,
Thank you for always being such a shining example of what a mother should be. You always put Jon and I before yourself, taught us how reach our goals, and never have you lost sight of our potential in life.
You have been a wonderful friend and mother over the years, but always a mother first, a lesson you have passed along to me. Best of all, you showed me what it truly meant to live with grace.
I know I have said that to you many times in my life, but I truly mean it. Living with grace is not something you can buy, nor is it something you can choose to do here-and-there. To truly be graceful, as you are, you need to always be generous, hold your judgments of others when they are unnecessary, define class with new standards, and give kindness to others unconditionally. And of course, you have to look fabulous in pearls. ;-). You do all of these things and more. All of my friends who meet you comment on the same thing in one way, or the other.
I appreciate all of the help you have given me now that I am a mother. You are a wonderful Grammy, which of course is no surprise to me. You let me be the parent and figure things out for myself without interjecting your experience unless you feel it's helpful. Thank you for letting my experience as a mommy be just that, mine. Seeing you with Annie brings me great joy and we are so happy to have made you a Grammy!
Thank you for the years of support, appropriate criticism & praise, and wonderful memories. I hope you have a wonderful day, and I can't wait until we are all together to celebrate in a few weeks.
