Things that smell delish!

Another thing I had wanted to do this year was turn my blog into more than just pictures of Annie. She is darling I know, but life is about more than just her. I used to write a lot in college about various things, at one point I even taught a class to underclassmen at Berkeley. That was one of the best experiences of my life.

So what to write about? Well the easiest place to start is with some of things that I love. Why not share them with you? Today's topic is things that smell heavenly. Next weeks...maybe books. Really just depends on whether I finish any of them that I bought this week.

First up? My favorite candles (besides the battery operated ones on a timer of course) are Jo Malone. She really created an amazing line of fragrances. Of them, I love the white jasmine and mint. You just really feel like you are doing something special for yourself when you light them. I also use her fragrance, but I find because they are colognes and not perfumes the scent does not last as long as I would like. They say to counter this you should layer them and use the lotion, but really...what new mom has time for that? Just light a candle, grab some wine, and relax.

My favorite perfume of the moment is Kate Spade signature fragrance. It has a lot of white flowers in it which I love. Tuberoses, gardenias, jasmine etc. The scent lasts a long time and I have been given many compliments on it lately. When I am stressed I find myself sitting there smelling my wrists. My co-workers must think I have some kind of weird wrist fetish.

For room/linen spray my all-time-favorite is still Kai. I discovered this in Hawaii many years back in a Four Seasons Spa and I always make sure I have some on hand for those nights when you have a freshly made bed and a good book. It makes me think of tanned skin, sunsets, and tropical drinks. They also make a perfume that I love, but I am kind of over it at this point.
Lastly, if you are into really great hair products, I cannot recommend anything more than Kerastase. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Yes. My super secret tip is to use normal shampoo and conditioner and then use their styling products. Half the price and my hair feels just the same. This leave in conditioner, Ciment Thermique smells like heaven. You almost want to eat it it smells so good. Even Adam loves the stuff!
Happy Smelling!

Table for tomorrow!

Onwards with my resolution. Tomorrow I *think, though not positive, we are having lobster risotto with seared scallops. All will depend on the seafood at Costco.

I have the table set so I can focus on the dinner all day. It will be just Adam and I unless someone wants to join us!

Because it was just the two of us I could use our smaller table which I love! I am really having a blast using all the great things we have gotten over the years that usually just collect dust, so if you bought us some of this for our wedding, THANKS! I think we have about 4 different sets of glassware, next week? Green glass goblets that I adore. What kind of food goes with green glass goblets ;-)

Hail-leluja

I have been saying for 4 days that I was disappointed by the storms showing here in the Bay Area, I mean I know it was raining and all, but I wanted some action. Well today I got it! Annie and I were playing in the family room when suddenly is sounded like the house was being attacked. We had about 15 minutes of non stop hard and thick hail...it was AWESOME!!! This never happens here. Annie was a bit scared by how loud it was, but once she figured out she could eat it, she was all grins.
