Santa's Little Helper

Annie was much better at helping me box some holiday gifts than I was at washing the outfit she's wearing.

Elves are freaky, I concede.

I have thing for little people. Let me rephrase, I have a thing for elves, fairies and gnomes. When I was a kid I was obsessed with the book "The Littles" it got so bad I took a screw driver and I punched a bunch of fist size holes in the wall. This, of course, was to make sure that the Littles had a way to get in and out of their home.

Needless to say, I was in BIG trouble. I however was not deterred. As a tribute to my childhood love I collect these little holiday elves and fairies. I have done so for about 10 years now. The elves freak everyone out. Big Time. Lori, most notably, thinks they are the creepiest things she has ever seen.

Well, tragically, Annie agrees with Lori. It's official, my mom and I are the only ones that dont find these things to be evil. I should also note, I have never ever seen Annie afraid of ANYTHING. Not bugs, not monsters, not strangers. But elves? Check.

I'm saddened by this, but I am convinced once Annie gets over her initial phobia and terror she will love my elves... right?

Holiday Cookies

I saw snow globe cookie cutters in Martha Stewart a few months ago (yes I read Martha) and I had to get them and make some cookies in honor of our cousin Jayden. Jayden loves, and collects snow globes. Fun projects like these make a house feel like a home I think.

I did a trial run this weekend and I think they turned out really cute! Did Lemon Icing on Shortbread cookies. (Lisa's famous shortbread recipe!)

Annie woke up and saw them all and her eyes lit up, shes never had a sugar cookie, but my kid knows a good thing when she sees it!

Daddy What Were You Thinking?

Daddy was thinking that Annie has trouble learning to walk in pants and jammers (aka pajamas) so shorts were the best option. Are these shorts too tight? Yes. However, I remember my brothers and I rocked out in OP shorts that were nearly as tight in 1985. Please note that the pink in the shorts match the pink car on her shirt. A good excuse for this outfit? No, but it's all I got.
