Today I went friend dating. You can call it a Mommies Group but at the end of the day that is what you are doing. And I got 3 numbers! Never did that well in a bar before. ;-)
I went out to the Iron Horse Mothers Club for the San Ramon,
Danville,
Pleasanton moms. It was the welcome brunch for new members and it was great. About 50 women showed up and I got the chance to really talk to about 8 of them. Of the 8 I really hit it off with 2 of them. One lives about 5 minutes from me, and the other in
Danville (about 10 minutes). Both women I had a lot in common with and I left feeling great about my new community.
They have all sorts of field trips and sub clubs for the mommies. Working moms club, book club (
yay) playgroups, mommies night out etc. I already have my first "date" with Annie and a little boy named Jamison.
On my way home I saw our new neighbors just back from Costco. I met them a few days ago. They just moved here from Arizona. The husband went to Davis and they have two 19 month old twins. We are having them over in 2 weeks for dinner.
All in all, for as nervous as I was to move, I have lived here 7 days to the day, and made about 10 new friends if you count all the great neighbors. Not too shabby. Not sure why I was so nervous, but it kind of felt like the first day of school in a way.
Adam is in the garage putting together an edger and putting gas in his brand new mower. I think he feels like a mans man out there, its pretty cute. I hope he
doesnt cut anything important off his body.
Happy Sunday!
