I have to say, as holidays go we have them well underhand. We had two awesome Holidays this year. TG at the desert and Christmas here, I am feeling very lucky.
I wanted to do everything that we dont usually get to do because we are traveling, to use all my entertaining pieces, decorations and holiday recipes. And, I did it all, with the exception of one egg nog cheesecake ;-). lol.
Annie was so cute this year. Santa always leaves a trail of candy canes from her door tot he fireplace where he leaves all the toys, unwrapped, from his workshop.
Santa did the same thing for me as a kid. Annie knew when she saw the first cane that SOMEONE had been there, but she was not going to confidently say it was Santa until she laid eyes on the bike she asked for. Then she went nuts. "It was him, he was here!" I could have cried, and might have done so.
I planned everything, as did my mom, so we were not spending all day in the kitchen, maybe 2 hours total for both meals. The rest of the time we were watching movies, playing games, and there might have been some singing of carols. Gross I know.
Uncle Jon drove all the way here to be with us, and Annie was thrilled to have such a great playmate.
Such a wonderful holiday. I will be sad on New Years day when I have to put everything away.
Merry Christmas!
