I think we're alone now. $%#!

My Dad had to leave today, so Adam needed some help to finish so I joined in the lessons this morning before my parents left.

I will say this, I am not good with math, angles, and I have never used a saw, other than a hand saw, so for now Dad and Adam are the experts there.

I was a champ at the nail gun and joining the seams, caulking and sanding nails and building out corners.  Getting the seams where the wood joins perfect is not as easy as it seems, but we got it!  We seemed to have picked just about the hardest moulding to work with as we could have our first time out.

But, as a result we learned at ton.  Thank you again Dad.

Getting ready for painting.
My dad left us this pressurized nail gun to use.  Makes the hammering nearly non-existent!

 Practice cuts.

All that is left to do is paint tomorrow!

Stone choices made!

Well the hard part for us is done.  We made all of our stone choices.  While I am excited to do pavers and not stamped, I did fall in love with the slate, damn you budgets and responsibility!  I am however thrilled with the natural stone options we do have.  I am also doing metal furniture sort of like pictured, not the all weather wicker as we already have that in the lanai.

Not that our yard is 1/20th this fabulous but you can get the idea, these are the pavers we chose, the retaining walls will look very similar with the stone below, and the caps will be bullnose just like this picture.  Now the rain just has to stop!

These are the actual pavers.  The large piece is the limestone that will be the cap of the retaining wall and table top for edges of the fire pit.  It will all be bullnose at the ends.

This is the stone that will go around the fire pit and on the face of the retaining wall.  God how awesome would it be to have this house! ;-)
