Feeling Good in Fall

Today Annie went for her 9 month check-up. Below you'll find the adorable Fall outfit she wore. She got over a dozen smiles in the doctors' office lounge. Annie brushed all the attention aside and played with some toys. She only had to get one vaccination shot today and she didn't even cry!

After that we went to Gymboree where her new favorite thing is to bounce on this crawling bridge. Of course she is bouncing standing up on the "crawling bridge" so it was hard to get good footage while I made sure she didn't tip it over. Good times.

Grammy and Grumps Come for a Visit

Grammy and Grumps came by for an early fall visit before they head out on their trip to Italy, Egypt, etc etc etc.

They wont get to see Annie until Halloween so they wanted to get a little visit in before we meet them in Fresno for Trick-or-Treat.

We had a great weekend! My mom and I had some good luck shopping, then we went to the Ritz in Half Moon Bay for lunch and it was fabulous. On the way back we stopped to buy our traditional beautiful pumpkins which always remind me of our wedding. And we also stopped into the flower grower there and found a new paradise. I got two HUGE bunches for amazing blooms for 20 bucks. My bedroom is very luxurious now!

For Friday night we watched all the new shows we had taped and had sushi... Divine! Then today we hit down town San Carlos for a DIVINE lunch. Finger licking good. Literally. We were licking our fingers. Topped it off with a trip to Vanilla Moon and sent them on their way. It was a quick trip, but a great one!

Annie, Grammy Whenny, and Grumps!

Some fall decorations around our house...

Annie, being charming as usual.
Annie says shes pretty skeptical about the broccoli I gave her...
Sippy cups are the latest and great excitement at our house!

Park Fun

These videos were taken and uploaded from my iPhone so it's low quality. However, Annie loves the park so I had to share. She didn't eat the sand here like she did at the beach so that's a plus.

Gymboree

I took Annie to her first Gymboree class on Wednesday and Annie had a blast. My favorite part of the clip is that the boy in the blue stripes (Nicholas) was taking the balls away from all the kids, including Annie. But in the end who ends up with the ball, my Annie. Way to go!!! I'm just glad I didn't have to beat up Nicholas' daddy.

Glinda is that you?

One of my favorite movies as a kid was The Wizard of Oz. I must have watched it five hundred times. My absolute favorite part of the movie, was, and still is, when Glinda comes down out of that giant bubble and poof there she is in all her pink shimmering glory.

She, in my opinion, is the platinum standard of what a princess should look like. She has a huge poofy dress, she sparkles, she has puffy sleeves, a wand with a giant star at the end, and she has a crown. Really, what more could a girl want? All of this and she was cool enough to be a witch, not a wussy princess.

After I saw that movie, whenever I was around bubbles, I would watch very very carefully as to not miss Glinda. Alas, she never came, but I still have hope. I hope Annie does to. Whether or not she is looking for Glinda I can't say, but bubbles are truly something my little Annie Girl loves.

Mommy, this is the saddest thing ever. They all keep popping!

Hot Lava

Remember that game? You would throw the pillows from the couch (and every other pillow you could find) on the ground, and then as you walked around you had to be on the pillows. If your feet touched the ground you got "burned".

Well, Annie plays that game now, except for her, she has to have her hands on the perimeter of anything she can reach pulling herself along. Either that, or she has to be touching things she is not supposed to be. Everything now has to be 3 feet from the edge, just out of her chubby little reach.

I think yesterday she started to grasp the word "no." This morning I caught her playing in Mommy's room near the window seat while I folded laundry. She was trying to grab the things she is not supposed to. Below are the pics.

Annie after I told her No.

Annie discovering she can't eat a shadow.

Just double checking that shadow theory.

"Who me? Do something wrong? Never!"

I think Annie looks exactly like Unlce Todd's baby pics in this picture. (Above)

Annie 9 Months

Annie is 9 months old! I can't believe it... 9 Months!!! It's flying by so quickly. Shes crawling everywhere, is very curious, pulls herself up and walks around the table, and now, sleeps through the night! It is so fun to see her connect the dots. She likes to play more and more games with us, and you can see when she really "gets" something.

She loves to give all of her stuffed animals hugs, it's just about the cutest thing in the world. She will hug them one after the other after the other. We tell her to give her lovey's a love and she hugs them up by her neck.

We took her to gymboree class this week and she did great. She was very bold, not afraid of other kids or people, and had no qualms taking other kid's toys right away from them. (We'll have to work on that one!)

She eats mostly solids at this point, the most recent addition being steamed carrots, peas, corn, and green beans. She gets about half of the little suckers on the floor, but the other half makes it to her mouth and she loves them!

She is starting to look more like a toddler than a baby to me, which is sad and exciting all at once. No words yet, but lots and lots of sounds. When you tell her no, specifically when you yell "NO"...she laughs...a lot. It's hard not to laugh back.

Adam took her on the swings for the first time last week as well, she enjoyed it, and crawling in the sand, very much. She didn't even put the sand in her mouth. Amazing!

Hopefully we can post some of the above mentioned videos. But for now, we are enjoying the shift in seasons and watching Annie grow up!
